Now, with the Q2HD Handy Video Recorder, there's only one handheld camcorder with both onboard Mid-Side stereo recording and live streaming capabilities. In addition, the Q2HD features an upgraded camera sensor, enhanced user interface and much more for capturing and sharing great looking videos that sound better than ever.

Mid-Side brings the audio.

The Q2HD is the first handheld camcorder to offer Mid-Side stereo recording. Mid-Side recording, first introduced by Zoom on the H2n Handy Recorder, is a technique that's been used for many years in film and broadcast, where ambiance is crucial. Mid-Side recording combines a unidirectional Mid mic that captures sound directly in front of you and a bidirectional Side mic that captures sound from your left and right. By increasing or decreasing the level of the Side mic, you can control the width of the stereo field, which gives you incredible flexibility over your recordings.

With its condenser microphones in 30° to 150° Mid-Side stereo configuration, the Q2HD gives you natural depth and accurate imaging. From live musical performances, rehearsals and recitals to journalism, education, sports and travel, the Q2HD's pristine audio is so realistic your movies will let you relive the moment over and over again.

Mid-Side (MS) mics provide stereo width control

The Q2HD also displays audio meters, allowing you to quickly set and monitor your levels. Using the analog-type MIC GAIN wheel allows you to dial-in the perfect amount of gain for any recording application. Or use the Q2HD's Auto Gain Control to automatically set the recording level for any given situation. And now with three presets for Auto Gain control (Concert / Solo / Meeting) it's even easier to get great sound no matter what you're shooting. For outdoor shoots, we highly recommend using a windscreen (included in the optional APQ-2HD accessory package) over the built-in mics.

Live Stream in Real-Time.

Want to live stream high quality audio and video from your gigs, special events and more? With the Q2HD, now you can stream your videos through your computer directly to the web. Simply connect your Q2HD to your computer via USB cable (included in the optional APQ-2HD accessory package) and start streaming like the pros. The Q2HD's streaming function is compatible with Ustream Producer, Flash Media Live Encoder, Skype and other popular streaming applications. And it works wonders with premium programs such as Ustream Producer Pro or Studio. It's never been easier to broadcast your movies on the web in real-time.

With the Q2HD, it's never been easier to shoot great videos. Select 1080p or 720p for amazing clarity and detail no matter where or what you're shooting. With a new lens and imaging sensor, the Q2HD captures exceptionally clean video that is compressed with the industry standard H.264 video codec. It also has a larger aperture than its predecessor, which lets more light into your movies.

All of the Q2HD's functions are as clear and comprehensive as the audio and video that they capture.

The Q2HD's LCD screen, located on the rear of the unit, conveniently displays icons for battery life, recording levels, sound quality, current operation status, screen setting, image size/frame rate, elapsed time, recording source, Mid-Side microphone settings and lo-cut filter information.

In addition to the screen/interface, the rear of the Q2HD features a reference speaker, MENU, Record/Select, Play/Pause and Directional buttons. The bottom of the unit features a tripod mount. On the left side of the Q2HD, you'll find Phones/LINE OUT to send audio to your headphones or external speakers. In addition there is a mini-HDMI jack for connecting to your HDTV, a USB port for connecting the unit your computer and the power button.

On the right side of the Q2HD, you'll find an analog MIC GAIN wheel, Delete button and the SD/SDHC/SDXC card slot.
